The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Kay (O’Neal) Stewart, age 79, of Blue Ridge, Ga., who died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.Mrs. Stewart was retired from Levi Strauss and was a member of O’Zion Baptist Church. She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, daughter of the late Joseph T. and Essie Mosley O’Neal. She was the wife of the late Wilbern Jack Stewart.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Edith Stewart of Canton, Ga., and Gary and Cynthia Stewart of Aragon, GA; four sisters, Hazel Walker of Blue Ridge, GA, Odra Miller of Marietta, GA, Wilma Ann Dowell of Owensboro, KY, and Debbie Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA; three brothers, Carroll O’Neal, Irby O’Neal, and Glenn O’Neal all of Blue Ridge, GA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Kay Smith, Jessica and Nathaniel Stewart, three great-grandchildren, Patrick Smith, Garrett and Elisa Stewart, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 12th, at 2:00 PM from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins officiating. Interment will be at O’Zion Church Cemetery.
