Back in chapter 1:13, Paul tells the Gentile believers, “And you were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit…” Now, in the latter part of chapter 2, he is going to spell it out in detail. Christianity began in the cradle of Judaism. At long last, the prophesied Messiah came to the Jewish people first. He was then offered to the Gentiles. Paul reminds the new believers of seven concepts that form the whole picture of how blessed they are to be included in the salvation of the Jewish Messiah. (more…)

Ephesians 40:20-29

A little boy who lived far out in the country in the late 1800s had reached the age of twelve and had never in all his life seen a circus. You can imagine his excitement, when one day a poster went up at school announcing that on the next Saturday a traveling circus was coming to the nearby town. He ran home with the glad news and the question, “Daddy, can I go?” Although the family was poor, the father sensed how important this was to the lad. “If you do your Saturday chores ahead of time,” he said, “I’ll see to it that you have the money to go.”

VOICES! There are so many voices that are trying to get our attention. There are voices at school that tell about how the world functions. Through the media we hear voices that tell us what is going on in the world about us. At home we hear voices that tell us what life is all about. In the community we hear voices that try to involve us in various aspects of life. In church we hear voices that tell us about life’s realities.

Ephesians 1:15-23
We love to watch children in the process of learning. Their perceptions of life are very amusing and often profound – especially their concepts of God. A group of children wrote letters to God. Here are some of their questions and statements:
