Announcements

Fannin County Commissioner Bill Simonds proclaimed April 5, 2016, as National Service Recognition Day. The goals of this day are to highlight the impact of national service and thank individuals serving in AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs across the country.

“National service is a vital resource for our county,” said Commissioner Bill Simonds. “AmeriCorps members and Senior Corps volunteers make our counties better places to live. As County Commissioner, I am grateful for the dedication and sacrifice of these citizens, who are helping make our great county stronger, safer, and healthier.”

McKenzie Owenby is an AmeriCorps member who is currently serving with the Fannin County 4-H program. Fannin County 4-H has over 250 members and offers in-school and after-school meetings.
Commissioner Simonds thanked McKenzie for the outstanding job she is doing with the 4-H program.
