Sports, TeamFYNSports

TeamFYNSports would like to congratulate the Fannin County Rebels class of 2023 signees Logan Long, Andrew Waldrep, and Jack Kantner.

Logan Long signed his National Letter of Intent yesterday to continue his academic and athletic career at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia. The 6’2 290lb lineman finished his career at Fannin County with 189 total tackles and 5.5 sacks. Last season in particular, he excelled on both sides of the football, creating huge holes on the Oline and wreaking havoc on opposing team’s backfields.

Andrew Waldrep will continue his career at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. Waldrep averaged 8 tackles per game in his High School career at Fannin County, and was nearing the Fannin County career tackle record despite only playing in 7 games his senior season. With 237 total tackles and 38 tackles for loss, Waldrep will be remembered as one of the best linebackers to come through Fannin County in the previous decade.

Kicker Jack Kantner signed to play football at the University of the Cumberlands, where he will join former Fannin County Rebel and current starting quarterback Luke Holloway. Kantner was 121/129 in PATs in his High School career, and consistently put the ball in the endzone for a touchback for the Rebels. 27 of his 38 kickoffs his senior season were touchbacks, good enough for 3rd in the state.

Congratulations to all three of these young men, we know you’ll make an immediate impact on your respected schools.
