Chuck Cook of the Board of Elections office says that 2,022 people voted during early voting and absentee ballots – 1672 in early voting and, at 4 pm, 350 absentee ballots.  The number of absentee ballots will rise because people have been hand-delivering the ballots throughout today.

His plans for the evening – count ballots.  At 7 pm the Board of Elections office will unseal the early voting and absentee ballots.  Then, at 7:45 he expects that precincts will be arriving with their ballot boxes.  The Board of Elections will open the ballot boxes and begin the recounts.  Around 8:45, the Board of Elections should start announcing the final results of each precinct.  Could be longer though because each election is different says Mr. Cook
