Last Wednesday, Appalachian Land & Mortgage Company opened the its first of seven branches spread throughout north Georgia.  The company provides loans for up to 50% of the value of your land.  The interest rates for the loans are higher than traditional banks and mortgage companies.  The loan service is geared towards people who need cash quickly or do not have good credit.  Most loan contracts are for two years with consistent payment amounts throughout the loan period and a balloon payment at the end to cover additional costs.  Appalachian Land & Mortgage retain title to the land until the loan is paid off or takes possession of the title if the borrower cannot cover loan payments.
