The Fannin County School system held its annual District Spelling Bee on Monday, February 3rd.The following participants won the opportunity by competing and winner his or her school wide spelling bee.

Blue Ridge Elementary – Emily McClure
East Fannin Elementary – Kaylee Scarbary
West Fannin Elementary – Jules Nicholson
Fannin County Middle School – Will Shirah

Dr. Michael Gwatney was the caller for the event with judges being: Shannon Miller, Sarah Finch, Robert Ensley and Lori Chastain.

Will Shirah took first prize after seven rounds of competion.

Kaylee Scarbary would be named district runner-up.

Shirah will go on to compete in the State wide Spelling Bee at the being of March.
