Walter Henry “Dink” Harris, age 78, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home. Dink was born on March 31, 1934 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Luther Ervin and Pearl Boggs Harris. He retired after twenty-three and half years as an auto assembly worker with General Motors in Doraville, GA. Dink served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He attended New Prospect Church. Dink is preceded in death by brothers, Ervin and Cecil Harris.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Jeanette Henry Harris of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Scottie and Lisa Harris of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Dwight Dilbeck of Ducktown, TN; brothers, Jack Harris of Blue Ridge and Bobby Harris of IN; sister, Betty Jo Hancock, Savannah, GA; six grandchildren, Justin Sisson, Garrison Sisson, Haley Griffin, Cody Harris, Samantha Harris and Olivia Pearl Harris.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Bill Pittman and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music will be by The A.C. Caylor Family, Tim Gray and Mark Huff. Military Honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park.
