Rebels Roll Past Gordon Central in Wire-to-Wire Win
The Fannin County Rebels took care of business Tuesday night, never trailing in a convincing 54–22 win over Gordon Central.
Kolton Kaylor paced the Rebels with a game-high 17 points and added nine rebounds as Fannin stormed out to a 32–6 halftime lead. The Rebels kept the pressure on out of the break, stretching the margin to 38–8 before reeling off a 14-point run that put the game well out of reach.
The third quarter was all Fannin, with the Rebels outscoring Gordon Central 20–4 while shooting an efficient 9-of-15 from the floor.
Fannin controlled the paint throughout the night, finishing with 32 total rebounds. Along with Kaylor’s strong work inside, Matthew Ponton knocked down a pair of threes and dished out a team-best six assists. On the defensive end, Keaton Watkins was a force, swatting six of the Rebels’ nine blocks and adding 12 points of his own.
Also contributing to the scoring were Ponton (9), Brody Henson (6), Tyler Blake (3), Kolby Kaylor (2), Hudson York (2), Garrison Ensley (1), Avrey Angel (1), and Carson Callahan (1).
