Rebels Run Wild in Win Over Gordon Central
The Fannin County Rebels put together their best offensive outing of the season Friday night, defeating Gordon Central 42-21 in Blue Ridge. The win improved the Rebels to 4-2 on the year and handed the Warriors their first loss, dropping them to 5-1.
The ground game carried the Rebels all night. Senior running back Bryson Cole had a dominant performance, rushing for 194 yards and four touchdowns. As a team, Fannin piled up 296 rushing yards, marking the fourth straight game the Rebels have topped 200 yards on the ground.
Quarterback Nate Oneal added balance to the offense, throwing for 106 yards and two scores. The combination of a steady rushing attack and timely passing kept the Warriors’ defense on its heels throughout the game.
Gordon Central found the end zone three times but was unable to match Fannin’s pace. The Rebels built their lead early behind Cole’s scoring bursts and never looked back.
The victory marked Fannin County’s sixth straight win over Gordon Central, continuing a streak that stretches back several seasons.
Fannin will look to carry the momentum into its next region matchup as the Rebels push deeper into the schedule.
