Fannin County Lady Rebels Defeat East Laurens Behind Double-Double From Lewis

Fannin County defeated East Laurens, 72-63, on Saturday to punch their ticket to the State Championship, as Reese Lewis scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

The game was a battle from start to finish with 10 lead changes. Fannin County Lady Rebels took the lead for good on a two by Reese Lewis.

Trailing 30-25, the Lady Rebels went on an 8-point run to take the lead. Fannin County captured the win despite trailing 30-25 at halftime.

The third quarter was the best for Fannin County as they outscored East Laurens 23-14. Fannin County Lady Rebels had six assists in the quarter.

The Lady Rebels had a great day shooting from inside the arc, finishing 19-34 on twos. Fannin County shot well from distance, going 5-14 from three. Fannin County rebounded the ball well, collecting 31 rebounds. Reese Lewis led the team with 11 rebounds. Maggie Ledford hit three threes for Fannin, as The Lady Rebels passed the ball well with 13 assists on 24 made baskets. Fannin blocked four shots in the game. Additional scorers for Fannin County included Maggie Ledford (16 points), Izzie Jabaley (12 points), Avi Ethington (9 points), Emma Buchanan (6 points), and Callie Ensley (6 points).
