Cheatham 1 Win Away from All Time Winningest Fannin County Football Head Coach

 

 

Entering his 7th season as Fannin County Head Football Coach, Chad Cheatham has the Rebels as high as #4 in the state in various polls. Even as such, if the post season started today, the power rankings have Fannin County as the #1 team in the state.

 

 

Chad Cheatham will be the last one to want any credit but what Coach Cheatham has done in 6 years as Fannin Head Coach has been historic. A win on Friday night at Dade County would make Cheatham #1 All Time on the Fannin County Football Head Coaches career wins list. He is currently tied for 1st on the list with Former Head Coach Clark Drennan who won 46 games in 8 seasons as Fannin Head Coach.

 

 

Cheatham is the only coach in school history in football to win 2 region championships. (2020 and 2021)

 

 

Cheatham has 4 wins in the playoffs. In 2020 Cheatham’s Rebels defeated Pace Academy 28-21 in the 1st round and defeated Heard County in the 2nd round 21-14. In 2021 Fannin defeated Bremen 45-14. And in 2022 The Rebels went on the road and upset Athens Academy 28-13.

 

 

The Rebels travel to Dade County on Friday night for a big region test for both teams. A win against the Wolverines on the road would cement Coach Cheatham in the history books as the winningest head coach in program history.
