6 for 6- Fannin County Advances To The Playoffs For The 6th Straight Time Under HC Chad Cheatham

Haralson Co., Ga.- The Fannin County Rebels traveled to Tallapoosa on Friday night to take on the Rebels of Haralson County in a win-or-go-home game that would allow the winner to advance to the GHSA AA State Football Playoffs. Junior quarterback Lawson Sullivan made sure the Blue Ridge Rebels would be the team claiming that final Region 7AA Playoff spot, as he ended up with 5 touchdowns and 275 yards of total offense while adding a pick-6 on the defensive side of the ball. Fannin routed Haralson by a score of 41-14, and will travel to Cobb County to take on the North Cobb Christian Eagles on Saturday.

Judah  Wood stepped up in Carson Callihan’s absence, as the sophomore rushed for 86 yards on 11 carries. Braden Taylor led the team in receiving with 3 catches for 59 yards and a score. taylor also threw a TD pass on a trick play. Cooper Born was a wrecking ball on defense, tallying 14 total tackles and 1 TFL.

 

 

 

This marks the 6th time in his 6 years as head coach of the Rebels that Chad Cheatham has Fannin County in the playoffs, extending the streak for the most playoff appearances in FCHS history.

Fannin County will play their first-round playoff game on Saturday instead of the usual Friday night, due to a shortage of GHSA officials.
