PRESS RELEASE – The US Forest Service is planning a prescribed burn today, Tuesday March, 21,2023.

The Padena unit is a total of 1,628 acres located in Fannin County.

The burn is expected to start around 1000 AM and last until approximately 1-3 PM.

The general forecast has favorable conditions for this burn, but motorists are advised to use caution along Appalachian Highway (HWY 76).
