Blue Ridge- The Fannin County Rebels jumped on Pepperell in the first inning and never looked back in last night’s game at Fannin County High School. The Rebels ended up coming away with a 4-3 win and now sit at 11-10 on the year and 4th in Region 7AA.
Senior Jason Pearson got the win on the mound for Fannin, going 6 and 1/3rd innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out 5. Connor Martin came on in relief and secured the final 2 outs to earn the save for the Rebels.
Sawyer Moreland got the scoring started in the first inning, singling on a ground ball that got by the third baseman and drove in Bryson Holloway. The game-winning run for the Rebels came due to a Connor Martin sac fly in the second inning.
The rubber match between Fannin and Pepperell will be played tomorrow night in Lindale.
