Two-hour delay tomorrow for Fannin County Schools

BLUE RIDGE, Ga – The following is an alert from Fannin County Schools”

“As you may know, Fannin County is currently under a “winter weather advisory.”  Some forecasts indicate that the higher elevations in our area (>2,000 feet) may have freezing rain overnight and early tomorrow morning.  Out of an abundance of caution, the Fannin County School System will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, December 16.

Please plan for a two-hour delayed start of school Wednesday morning.  This two-hour delay includes all bus routes, as well as the times that parents may drop off children at school on Wednesday morning.  Also, be advised that breakfast will not be served, and the schools will dismiss at regular time on Wednesday afternoon.

All principals and 12-month personnel should report to work as close to normal time as safely possible on Wednesday.  Any concerns should be reported to your administrator as soon as possible.

If conditions Wednesday morning require a cancellation, this information will be updated.

Sincerely,

Michael Gwatney”
