Charles Edward Arp: Obituary

Charles Edward Arp, age 71, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in his home. Born on November 22, 1948, in Murphy, he was the son of the late Howard Carlton Arp and Ettie Lee Cole. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a mechanic.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Jo Ann Arp; sons, William (Rebecca) Rhodes of Copperhill, Rickey Brown of Blue Ridge, and Randy (Virginia) Brown of Morganton; daughter, Sandy Waldropt of Burnsville, NC; grandchildren, Danielle (Christopher) Crowder, Austin Rhodes, and Dylan Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Sue Crowder, Jon Crowder, Sawyer Rhodes, and Dominique Rhodes; and sisters, Darlene Collins, Marilyn Phillips, and Sara Arp.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 4:00 PM from New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Peacock officiating. Elbie Cole, Austin Rhodes, Dylan Rhodes, Chris Crowder, Junior Bell, and William Rhodes will serve as pallbearers. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
