Brian Higgins – Candidate for Blue Ridge City Council.

I am a lifelong native of North Georgia, and I have lived in Fannin for
the last 24 years. I am fortunate to have worked for Ace Hardware of Blue
Ridge for 17 plus years as a woodworker and sign maker. I have been married
to my wife Amanda for over 17 years, and we have one son, Alex. We have raised
him to appreciate our shared local VALUES, TRADITIONS and HISTORY, and
I will continue to fight for those beliefs.

I am raising my family in this town like the rest of you, and while I want it to
prosper, I also want to maintain the charm and character we have always been
known for. I will do my absolute best to maintain an efficient city government,
while preserving our peaceful little town.

I am privileged to serve on The Humane Society of Blue Ridge Board of Directors,
serve as President of The Fannin County Chamber of Commerce Lunch-n-Leads Group,
and as the creator of The Blue Ridge Soapbox Derby, have given almost $5000 to our
Fannin County School System.

I am a staunch advocate for our local residents and ways of life, and I will use my influence
to pursue more programs focused on our local residents and children.
I am a big proponent of preparing today’s youth for tomorrows challenges. I will continue
to work with our local school systems to educate and teach through my S.T.E.M endeavors.
As your city voice, my goals are to:
-Revitalize the Farmers Market Building into a multi-use facility with city parking.
-Incorporate new and exciting events for residents and children.
-Advocate for more tourism dollars to improve our town.
-Promote our local artists and farmers.

I am not a politician, nor do I have any business interests. I pledge to you that
any and all votes I make will be for the good of everyone.
Remember, I am working for YOU. I want to hear your
ideas, concerns, and opinions. Blue Ridge belongs to us
all, and we should all have a right to a voice. I would be
honored to be your voice in City Council.
