David William McClugage: Obituary

Mr. David William McClugage, age 82, of Self Mt. Road, Blairsville, GA, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2019, at Union General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born, Oct. 22, 1937, in Freeport, IL to late Harry William and Vinca (Ewell) McClugage. Mr. McClugage was a U.S. Army Veteran.  Mr. McClugage was a retired FBI Agent with 27 years of service.  After retiring he worked as a Private Investigator, and worked as a Drug Tester for the NFL. His family said there would never be enough words to express how wonderful and beautiful a man he was….they will hold him in their heart forever.  He had lived here for 26 years moving here from Florida. Mr. McClugage was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Luadzers) McClugage of the home, a daughter. Diane McClugage of Tampa, FL, two sons, David L. McClugage and William J. McClugage both of Florida, a brother, James McClugage of Florida, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Zollinger officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family desires that donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
