For their second region game of the season, the Lady Rebels traveled to North Hall to take on the Lady Trojans last night. Fannin had just come from a tough loss to Dawson County and hoped to redeem themselves against North Hall.

The Lady Trojans wasted no time putting points on the board as they scored a layup right out the gate for an early lead. Morgan Holt was the first to put points on the board for Fannin as she scored a layup off of an assist from Abby Ledford. Saidee Collins continued the trend as she made a basket on the block to put Fannin ahead 4-3. Reagan York was the last Rebel to score in the fourth quarter as she put the score at 14-11 with Fannin in the lead.

North Hall quickly answered the Rebel’s call as they banked a 3 point shot to tie up the game 14-14. Becca Ledford was the one to put the ball into action and pull ahead of the Trojans with a layup to put the score at 16-14. Ledford led Fannin in scoring for the night with 11 points overall. The Trojans then put their own layups on the board to pull ahead 18-16. Morgan Holt made a spin move to make a jump shot and tied the game 18-18. Holt showed off her ball handling skills as she added 8 points to Fannin’s score for the night. The game continued to go back and forth as both teams kept stealing the lead from one another. Reagan York had a good look inside to Rebel post Olivia Sission for her to make a shot and put Fannin ahead 22-20. Sisson proved to be an asset on the block as she added 8 points to the Rebel’s score for the night. At the last second of the second quarter, the Trojans made a 3 point shot to go into halftime with a 23-22 lead over Fannin.

The Lady Trojans came alive to start off the second half. Instead of Fannin taking back the lead, North Hall kept it and ran away with it. The Trojans half court pressed the Rebels and made them work to get to the basket. Natalie Thomas mader her presence known at the last second of the third quarter as she banked a 3 point shot to put the score at 40-29 with North Hall in the lead.

Although North Hall was in the lead, Fannin kept fighting until the end. Abby Ledford was able to draw a foul and make a free throw to add to Fannin’s score. Saidee Collins had rebounds down low where she put them back up for shots and scored 6 points overall for Fannin. Collins was the last Rebel to score before the clock wound down on North Halls 50-36 victory.

Fannin’s loss put their overall record at 4-3 while their region record stands at 0-2. Catch the Lady Rebels next game today as they take on Union County at home, starting at 2pm!
