The West Fannin Running Club focuses on overall student health from improving physical fitness to building and sustaining self-confidence. Our West Fannin Running Club coaches are Miranda Roof, Lucas Roof, Amber Mitchell, Michele Grubb, and Shannon Cioffi. In order to inspire students to enjoy running and exercise, our coaches invited Mike Cosentino to provide a motivational speech to the student runners on Friday, September 13. Mr. Cosentino is the owner of Big Peach Running and is an avid long-distance and trail runner who has raced in many marathons and ultramarathons. After speaking to the students about the importance of cardiovascular health and the difference between dynamic and static stretches, Mr. Cosentino stretched with and ran alongside the student runners. We are extremely thankful at West Fannin Elementary to have educational partners that work with and encourage our students like Mike Cosentino and Big Peach Running.
