Shelby Dotson Franklin, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents James Jahu and Ethel Louvetia Stewart Franklin; and a son Mark Waters.
She is survived by her daughters Vickie Waters Talbert of Copperhill, TN and Ethel Waters of Brentwood, TN; son Jeffrey (Beverly) Lee Waters of Tumbling Creek; six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Lebanon Church Cemetery in Epworth, GA with the Rev. David O’Neal officiating. Those serving as pallbearers are Gary Franklin, Chance Waters, Jeffen Waters, Caleb Franklin, Jathan Beaber and Jay Hobs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral procession begins at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
