Lee was born at home on November 14, 1946 to Chester Boyd and Georgia McKinney Stepp. Lee is predeceased by his parents, and step-daughter Mechele Rene Dillard.
Lee leaves behind his beloved wife, Shirley(Shirl) of the home. Sisters: Roberta Bryan, of Marietta, Ga., Maolae (Roy) Hughes, Blue Ridge, Ga., Martha Patterson, Blue Ridge, Ga., one brother, Charles (Debra) Stepp, Elliay, Ga. Also sister in laws: Joyce (H.L.) Rogers, Blairsville, Ga., Pat Chasteen, Cleveland, Ga., brother in laws, Jerry Lynn(Terry) McHan, Hartwell, Ga., and Jack McHan, Pinedale, Wyoming. also were many nieces and nephews which he loved.
Lee was a man of faith, loving God and always trying to help others. He served proudly in the Army, the 508th Airborne Infantry in Panama Canal Zone 1966 – 1968, and remained in reserves until 1975. A long career of working first in maintenance for Tennessee Copper Co. for 19 years, then ending working career at Shaw Carpet in Dalton, Ga., as OTR driver, a job he truly enjoyed. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. No formal services are planned as this was Lee’s wishes. Friends are welcome to call or visit Shirl at their home.
