Mr. James Robert “Robbie” Turner, age 55, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on May 11, 2019 in the Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late J.N. and Dorothy Irene Gilbert Turner. Robbie was a gentle giant who loved his family. He was of the Baptist faith and loved drawing and wood burning art. He was currently employed with LCI in Jasper, GA. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Linda Hardin; brother-in-law, Roy Lee Allen; and one great nephew, Jaxson Hardin.
Survivors includes his loving wife, Cortney Kendall Turner; three children, Anna Runions and Michelle Turner both of Epworth, GA and Steven Setser of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Min Jody Turner and wife Cindy of Maiden, NC; sisters, Brandi Turner Allen of Blue Ridge, GA and Jan Pelfrey of McCaysville, GA; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Autumn and Summer Runions.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Jody Turner and Min. Bill Kendall officiating. A eulogy will be provided by Brandi Turner Allen. Music will provided by Jan Pelfrey, Dawhn Kendall and Shawn Bradley. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Anthony Bryant, Chris Galloway, Christopher Davis, Martin Pelfrey, Jacob Allen, Brandi Turner Allen, Kelly Callihan and Mark Turner. Steven Setser was selected to serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
