Sandra Kathleen Smith

July 23, 1949 – February 14, 2019

Sandra Kathleen “Kathy” Smith, age 69, of Turtletown, TN, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Kathy was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lewis “Bill” and June Waldrop Hensley and an infant sister.

She is survived by daughter, Tracy (Tomas) Vargas of Lilburn, GA; brothers, Charles Lewis “Bill” Hensley, Jr, of Cleveland, TN, Randall (Karen) Hensley of Ellijay, GA. grandchildren, Jeffrey Kimbrell and Nicole Vargas; great grandchild, Conner Kimbrell.

A Memorial Service was conducted Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Stephen Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mrs. Smith may be made to help defray final expenses. Condolences to the family may be sent online to www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge of the arrangements.
