Kathleen R. Stewart

March 5, 1939 – February 25, 2019

Kathleen R. Stewart, age 79, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 in Blue Ridge, GA. Born on March 5, 1939 in Blue Ridge, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Elbert and Velmar Cole Rhodes. She was a member of the Sunrise Tabernacle. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved working her garden and flowers. She loved cooking for her family and what she referred to as loafering. Her husband, Bobby B. Stewart also precedes her in death.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Kay and Tim Stahl, Patsy Stewart and Karen Bennie all of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Elbert and Carolyn Rhodes and Harold Rhodes all of Blue Ridge, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Jerleen and John Stewart also of Blue Ridge; grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and David Davis, Kandi and Kevin Hanson, Journey Stahl, Blake Stewart, Aleia Stanley and Miranda and Lukas Garren; great grandchildren, Alexis and Derrick Allen, Dawson Davenport, Abby Riddings, Tucker Hanson, Lucus Hanson, Ryder Hanson and Adalyn Stanley.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport and Rev. Jim Crews officiating. Music will be provided by Shirley Walker and Brenda Turner. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Harold Rhodes, Blake Stewart, Dawson Davenport, Tucker Hanson, David Davis, Kevin Hanson, Gary Bennie and Derrick Allen. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Journey Stahl, Lucus Hanson, Ryder Hanson and Lukas Garren. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Tabernacle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5p.m. until 9p.m. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Pruitt Hospice for the love and care they willingly gave during Mrs. Stewart’s illness.
