Ellen Kalafern Sullens

November 14, 1948 – January 17, 2019

Ellen Kalafern Sullens, age 70, of Ducktown, passed away January 17, 2019, at her home. Ms. Sullens was born November 14, 1948, in Blairsville, GA to the late John McDowell and the late Reathel Shepard. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing, coloring, cooking, going to church, gospel music, and visiting with family and friends. Ms. Sullens was preceded in death by her father, John McDowell, and mother, Reathel Shepard.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Dale Henderson, daughter, Melissa Michelle Colwell, son, Kevin Lee Sullens, daughter, Amanda Sullens, grandson, Matthew Cody English, granddaughter, Billie-Marie Suzanne Sullens, grandson, Keaton Lee Sullens, granddaughter, Kala-Lynn Janie Sullens, granddaughter, Kylee Scholl, granddaughter, Kalyssa Scholl, and great-grandson, Kenneth Bradford Carpenter, III.

Funeral services: Monday, January 21, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Pittman, Jr. and Rev. Asa Dockery officiating. Music provided by Sybil Hughes. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville. Pallbearers: Chris Henderson, Kevin Sullens, Larry Breedwell, Cody English, Keaton Lee Sullens, and Steven Colwell.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Saturday evening, January 19, 2019, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
