Tommy Reid Harris

August 17, 1942 – December 18, 2018

Tommy Reid Harris, age 76, of Morganton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Born on August 17, 1942 in Greenville, TX, he was the son of the late Leland Tate and Lillian Irene Williams Harris. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church in Greenville, TX. He retired from Fluor-Daniel where he had worked for 25 years as the Lead Engineer in Charge of Design and Construction of Pipelines. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Doug Morris.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Jones Harris of Morganton, GA; daughter, Kelli S. Daley and her fiancé, Paul Bonine of New Braunfels, TX; sons, David Lee Harris and his fiancé, Amber Roe, of Michigan and Joseph R. Dukes of Milledgeville, GA; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Daley of New Braunfels, TX; sister, Sue Harris Morris of Decatur, AL; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Williams of Decatur, AL, Meredith Bareth of Kansas, and Preston Morris (Leigh Anna) of Abilene, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 3:00 pm from Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 946 Waddell Street, Bremen, GA 30110. Pastor Keith Jones will officiate. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Russell Brown, Al Bridges, Dennis Jones, Rodney Brown, Van Edwards, and Tommy Kidd. The family will visit with friends on Saturday Evening from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, 7871 Blue Ridge Drive, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
