Carolyn Pape Terry, age 73, of Epworth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Born on May 9, 1945 in Pittsfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Margaret Morandi Pape. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. She worked for Eastern Airlines and later served as Deputy Director of Emergency Management for Civil Defense of Douglas County, Douglasville Police Department, and eventually retiring from Georgia Bureau of Investigation. She was a loving mother. She was “Mom” to all who knew her. She had a love for all animals, rescuing many dogs and enjoyed long trail rides with her horses and friends.
She is survived by her children, Marc Terry of Ellijay and Kimberly (Todd) Lawrence of Roswell; grandchildren, Clarke Terry, Lizzie Terry, Morandi Lawrence, and Caleb Morrow; and brothers, Thomas (Susan) Pape of Newnan and Judge Timothy (Jacque) Pape of Big Canoe.
Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 124 Hill Street, Copperhill, TN 37317. Rev. Erik S. Broeren will officiate. The family will visit with friends in the Church Parish Hall following the service. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com .
