Viola Oma Raper

January 10, 1940 – November 21, 2018

Viola Oma Raper, age 78, of Copperhill, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Ducktown, TN. Born on January 10, 1940 in Epworth, GA, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Edna Holt Davenport. She was a loving mother and grandmother that enjoyed cooking and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Raper; daughter, Jackie King; and brothers, Milton, Clifford, and Harold Davenport.

She is survived by her children, Tonya Raper of Copperhill, TN, Dianna (Larry) Pennell of OH, Judy (Randy) McLain of TX, and Gail Spurling of Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Joshua Law, Heidi Rupp, Ezekiel Curtis, Skylar McLain, Bailey Lyall, Travis Spurling, Crystal Simpson, Rachael Turner, Brad King, and Mac King; brothers, Gerald (Louise) Davenport of Culberson, NC, Earl Davenport of Jasper, GA, and Winston Davenport of McCaysville, GA; seventeen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Pallbearers were Joshua Law, Ezekiel Curtis, Seth Curtis, Darrell Davenport, David Davenport and Justin Deal. Interment followed in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Webster officiating.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge of the arrangements.
