Eugene “Gene” Green, age 89, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Ducktown, TN. Born on February 4, 1929 in , he was the son of the late Lester Baines Green and Myrtle Ward. He attended Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. Eugene was a member of Trenton-Wyandotte Masonic Lodge #8 F&AM in Trenton, MI and a member of the Scottish Rite. He worked as a Shift Foreman for BASF. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Lee Green.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Debbie) Green of Kalkaska, MI, Daniel Green of Kalkaska, MI, and son, Terry Lee Green of Mineral Bluff; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Green of Litchfield, MI; grandchildren, Danielle (Andrew) Nord, Richard (Sara) Green, Molli Welton(Jeff Nemeth), and Jeniffer Theil(Ed Carper); great-grandchildren, Destiny Nord, Casey Nord, Ellie Nord, Payton Gretzmacher, Piper Nord, Zachary Welton, and Benjamin Green; brother, Lester “Duke” James Green of Lincoln Park, MI; and sister, Sue Campbell of Blue Ridge.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
