Charles Wayne Patterson, age 77, of McCaysville, GA, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018. Mr. Patterson was born August 19, 1940, in Blue Ridge, GA, to the late Harsel Patterson and the late Bonnie Callihan Patterson. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from Kayes Auto Parts after working many years as a salesman. Mr. Patterson was a member of Epworth First Baptist Church and loved to travel and tinker in his shop building birdhouses and doing small projects. He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Dendle Patterson, and sister, Betty Weeks.
Survivors include: son, Jeff (Andrea) Patterson, step-son, Jason (Alisa) Nipper, brothers, Kenneth (Lois Ann) Patterson, Wendell (Ruth Ann) Patterson, and Jim (Shirley) Patterson, grandsons, Jared (Abby) Patterson, Todd (Hannah)Patterson, Brendan Nipper, and expecting a great-grandchild in the near future. Nieces, nephews, and his extended Florida family also survive.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 7:00 PM from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music will be provided by Vernon Owenby. Interment will be in the Copper Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Patterson’s family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA.
