George Frank Henson, Jr. age 84, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Ducktown, Tn. Frank was born on July 23, 1933, in Copperhill, TN to the late George Frank Henson, Sr. and the late Neppie Pruitt Henson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Martha Prater, and brother, James Henson.
Frank earned degrees in education and administration from Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee State. He was a veteran of the Navy. Frank began his career at West Fannin in 1961. During his career, he served as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal at Ducktown Elementary and Fannin County High School.
Survivors include wife of 63 years, Sherry Heriot Henson, son and fiancee, Pat Henson and Eva Jean Welch, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Stacy Henson, beloved granddaughter Reagan Henson, and sister, Mary Charles Jarrett of Fresno, California.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 12:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home. Doctor Tom Jordan will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 26, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the FCHS Academic Booster Club.
