Lillian Maynor Dilbeck: Obituary

Lillian Maynor Dilbeck, age 89, of McCaysville, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the Life Care Center in Ducktown, TN. Born on February 10, 1929 in Copperhill, TN, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Vinnie Cantrell Maynor . She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Beulah Chapter #21 O.E.S. She had also worked as a CNA for Pruitt Health for a number of years. Mrs. Dilbeck loved gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed sewing and Flea Marketing. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas Cornelius Dilbeck; son, Van Edward Dilbeck; and great granddaughter, Megan Harris Allison.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Wanda Galloway of Copperhill, TN, Margaret and Doug Garland of Alpharetta, GA; one son, Thomas Bryan Dilbeck of McCaysville, GA; one daughter-in-law, Sue Dilbeck of Copperhill, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Peggy Maynor of Muscle Shoals, AL; three sisters, Pauline Jones of Huntsville, AL, Bernice Roden and Glenda Sims both of Scottsboro, AL; grandchildren, Jeri (Harry) McConnell, Karen (Roy) Cribbs, Leigh Wood, Daven (Alicia) Dilbeck, Claire Garland, and Jonathan Garland; great grandchildren, Westley Harris, Mitchell Harris, Emma Wood, Kaitlynn Cribbs and Madelynn Cribbs; great great grandchildren, Halle Dilbeck, Evan Allison and Grant Dilbeck.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 30, 2018, at 1:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music will be provided by Westley Harris. Interment will be in the Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. following the service. Serving as pallbearers will be: Daven Dilbeck, Van Quinn, Jonathan Garland, Westley Harris, Mitchell Harris and Harry McConnell. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary pallbearers: Frank Bailey, George Jones and James Stewart. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to honor Mrs. Dilbeck to the Gideons International. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
