Mrs. Ethel Dyer Key, age 87, of Epworth, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Fannin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late John and Della Dilbeck Dyer. She was a member of the Colwell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Key.
Survivors include her husband, Gilliam Guy Key of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Sandra Key of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughters and sons-in-laws, Jo An Hicks (late Laddie Hicks) of Epworth, GA and Fay and Jerry Davenport of Cumming, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Tony Mashburn of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Alice and Robert Holloway, Paul and Kerri Hicks, David Hicks, Amy and Wade Bennett and Jeremy Davenport; great grandchildren, Autumn, Kristen and Sawyer Holloway, Abby Bennett, Mason, Justin, Luke and Natalie Hicks; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Music will be provided by Pat Mashburn and John Chastain. Interment will follow in the Colwell Baptist Church Cemetery with following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: John Chastain, David Hicks, Robert Holloway, Paul Hicks, Wade Bennett, Jeremy Davenport. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tony Mashburn, Bill Prather, Don Hall and Sam Lewis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
