Dorothy “Othella” Davis, age 68, of Postelle, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Othella was born in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Cutcher and Minnie Conner Messer. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Postelle, TN.
She is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Jimmie Lynn Davis of the home; daughter, Cheryl (Timothy) Robey of Utica, IL; brother, Wildon (Kathi) Messer of Columbia, TN; sister, Lucille Lunn of Lavergne, TN. Many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Music will be by Rev. James Jenkins and wife, Carolyn, Bob and Susie Nanney and Amanda Johnson. Pallbearers will be Dennis Smith, Kermit Davis, Mark Holder, Brice Holder, Andrew Holder, Dwayne Belcher, Matthew Belcher and Harley Rider. Serving as an Honorary Escort will be Bo and Debbie Burnette, Stan and Sandy Levinsky and Karen Davenport. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent online to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
