FCHS Engineering TEAM

The Fannin County High School Engineering teams competed in the National Engineering TEAMS competition on Wednesday, February 28^th at Georgia Tech.  More information on TEAMS can be found at http://teams.tsaweb.org/

The teams take an 80 question math, science, and engineering exam and submit a group answer key.  The 9^th and 10^th grade team placed 2^nd at the competition!  The students were also tasked with building a straw and pipe cleaner tower to support a tennis ball.  The third part of the competition is a written essay.  The teams will be ranked at the State and National level in the multiple choice test and essay categories.  If the students place 3^rd or higher overall in the State, they will be eligible to compete in the National Engineering TEAMS competition which will be held in Atlanta, GA in June.

Several FCHS graduates that are attending Georgia Tech came out to visit with the students and share their college experiences.  The GT students were Courtney Queen, Carly Hellerstedt, Charitty Tuttle, Mason Buchannan, and Will Shirah.
