Mr. Barry Lynn Mealer: Obituary

Mr. Barry Lynn Mealer, age 61, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on December 1, 2017. Born in Ducktown, TN, he was the son of the late Kenley Eddie and Shirley Edgel Newberry Garrison. Barry was a member of McCay Lodge #423 F&AM and of the Baptist Faith. He had worked a number of years as a Heating and Air Condition Technician for Total Comfort Systems. Barry was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Owenby Mealer.

Survivors include his son, Chris Mealer; two daughters, Anna Mealer and Amanda (Chad Stephens) Mealer, all of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Levone Mealer of Ellijay, GA, Tim and Sherry Garrison of Blue Ridge, GA and Rodney and Vickie Garrison of Epworth, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Eland Jones of Blairsville, GA and Theresa Garrison of Mineral Bluff, GA; grandchildren, Hailee Mealer, Hanna Mealer, Autumn Mealer, Chasity Starcher, Joshua Starcher, Madalynn Starcher, Tyler Jones and Isaiah Stephens.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday December 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Stuart officiating. Music was provided by Brit Jones. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Billy Mealer, Tim Garrison, Rodney Garrison, Tyler Jones, Chad Stephens and Tony Cross. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Larry Newberry, Richard Newberry, Doug Newberry, Hollis Newberry, Junior Watson, Steve Watson and Tyrone Newberry.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.   Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
