Mary Louise Tanner, age 68, of Copperhill, TN passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Tanner was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on December 28, 1948 to the late Charles Kenneth and Hazel Louise Bell McArthur. She was a member at the Bethany Church and had worked as a nurse at the Copper Basin Medical Center for 43 years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Chris Tanner.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Ray Tanner of Copperhill; a son, Dr. Richard Tanner of Copperhill; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Rodney Phillips of Copperhill; a brother, Charles McArthur of Cleveland; and three grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Kenneth Cole, and Janine Arellano.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bethany Church with Rev. Jimmy Dickey and Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music will be by Charlie Farmer, Renee Watkins, and William Wright. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Airport Road. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
