Mrs. Genevieve “Ginny” Ann Tipton: Obituary

Genevieve “Ginny” Ann Tipton, age 77 of Morganton, GA, passed away October 31, 2017 in Blue Ridge. Mrs.Tipton was born June 24, 1940 in Toledo, OH to the late William LaVoy and the late Lucy Ras LaVoy. She was a member of Wilscot Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Alderton, husband, W. H. Tipton, sister, Donna Tipton, and brothers, Sonny LaVoy and Bill LaVoy. Mrs. Tipton enjoyed sewing, reading, jig-saw puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughter, Melissa Davenport, sister, Alberta Cochran, grandchildren, Jennifer Stewart and Laura Alderton, great grandchildren, Lance Stewart and Libby Stewart, most trusted confidant, Kathy Tatum, several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives, and granddog Whiskey.

Funeral services: Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eric Davenport and Cathy Tatum officiating. Music provided by: Paula Culver. Interment in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Morganton, GA. Pallbearers: Robert Tipton, Richard Tipton, Randy Tipton, David McDaris, Wesley Allen, William Butt, and Lance Stewart. Honorary pallbearer: James Lloyd.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA, Thursday, November 2, 2017, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to help with final expenses.
