GA Appellate Court Judge Amanda Mercier visited Mrs. Arp’s 5th grade Social Studies classes at West Fannin Elementary for Constitution Day. She discussed the importance of the Constitution, and highlighted topics they have been learning such as due process of law, and the amendment process. Students discussed the voting rights amendments that they have been studying, and were able to hear real life examples from a member of the Georgia Judicial Branch! Students also celebrated Constitution Day in Mrs. Arp’s classroom by creating separate Classroom Constitutions, and composing a preamble for their rules. Students had a wonderful experience learning about the rules and promises for our government to keep, and our people to live by.
