Message from the Mayor as the City of Blue Ridge continues to work to resolve water emergency

Blue Ridge, GA  August 5, 2017

The City of Blue Ridge continues to find a solution to the water emergency & water boil alert for the community.  Below is a statement issued by City of Blue Ridge Mayor Donna Whitener:

We continue to work on the pumps that are causing Blue Ridge to lose water. We are working as diligently as possible to find a solution to the problem; however, we ask that you please continue to conserve water in the meantime.

In preparation for the worst case scenario that we lose water completely, a tanker truck of drinking water will arrive TODAY at Blue Ridge City Hall at 4:00 p.m. Please bring your own containers to fill up with drinking water. In addition, we will be distributing bottled water at this location.

We will continue with the back to school pool party at Blue Ridge City Pool from 6-8 p.m. as scheduled. Preparations have been made and we welcome you to swim, and enjoy snacks, bottled water, and free school supplies.

The city has been working since earlier Saturday morning to resolve the issues at the water plant.  See related article:
