Mrs. Carrie M. Galloway: Obituary

Mrs. Carrie M. Galloway, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on July 20, 2017 at her home. She was born in Dawson County, GA, to the late James and Atlas McArthur Parks. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Galloway was a long time member of the New Antioch Baptist Church. She loved gardening and was a talented and avid seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. James R. Galloway of the home; daughters and son-in-laws, Joy and Larry Allen of Albany, GA, and Robin and Van Rhodes of Charlotte, NC; sons and daughter-in-law, Clark M. and Sandra Galloway of Dallas, GA and Fred Galloway of Mineral Bluff, GA; 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; 3 great grandsons and 1 great grand daughter; and one sister, Grace Taylor of Mechanicsburg, PA.

Funeral Services were conducted on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Pope officiating. Music was provided by the New Antioch Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the Galloway Family Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Green officiating. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as pallbearers: Matthew Davenport, Shannon Adams, Larry Fox, Darrell Stewart, Greg Ledford and Timmy Messer. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Alton Pope, William Thrasher, Jack Adams, Jim Dickey and Ralph Green.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
