Restorative yoga allows the practitioner to enter a state of deep physical and mental relaxation. Although some yoga experience is helpful, there is no prerequisite of knowledge or flexibility; extensive use of props and supports helps every body attain positions that encourage restoration.

This class if for any artist no matter what level you are painting! Every art student, in order to create successful paintings, must master the art of mixing color.  In order to mix color, one must have a total understanding of color.  An art student must not only know the definition of the terms: primary, secondary, tertiary, complimentary, value, Chroma, temperature, intensity, pigments, mediums, tint, tone, shade, harmony, and arrangement; but have a hands-on master of how to mix the exact color, every time.  If you want to master color, this workshop is a must.  The goals of the class will be maximizing your understanding and use of the color wheel.  You will learn to mix the exact color, each and every time. The Supply Fee includes the unique TARGET COLOR Instructional Booklet.  The supply list will be e-mailed once register for class.

Once learning the skills of cutting and stitching leather, you will create a beautiful hand crafted leather shoulder bag.  In this fun class the student will be using a wood burning tool that inscribes a design onto the front of your shoulder bag.  Students will also have the options of decoration their bag, which includes a strap, with tassels and “bling”.  You can design a one-of-a-kind shoulder bag for yourself or give as a present.  The Instructor supplies all the materials necessary for your creative leather bag.
Georgia Peach Owl Pendant

Turn a Georgia Peach seed into a work of art!  Barbara has come up with a great class weaving a peach seed into a pendant with a leather cord.  Students will learn a technique of forming wire bails for a leather cord. The peach seed will look like an owl using wire to create the eyes.  The student will also learn a sailor’s knot for the leather cord holding the owl pendent.  What a fun class to create unique jewelry!
Introduction to Printmaking

This printmaking class is a beginning class for students. The students will learn several techniques including drypoint, relief, and monotype.  Most of the prints will be produced in black and white with the exception of monotype.  You will also learn a basic method of hand printing that you can do at home.  You are encouraged to bring reference materials for your prints.  The students will take home 3 to 4 prints.  What a new and creative way to express your artistic abilities.  The Supply List will be provided upon registering for the class.

Creative Clay Sculpture

A new class to discover your artistic abilities that is fun and creative!  This pottery class will show you the joys of creating art with your hands using clay.  Using pinch pot techniques you will build sculptural objects or functional vessels.  This class will be creating a face design where you will learn the proportions to make a portrait with clay that you can use as planter or a cup.  During the first 2 days you will focus on discovering and creating a pinch pot vessel.  On the last day, the class consists of learning glazing techniques and applying the techniques on your pinch pot.  Bring a friend, make faces and have some fun!  There is a supply fee which includes clay and glazes.

Sept. Class

This class is for animal lovers that love to create art with your hands.  The student will create an animal head with clay.  The Instructor will teach the beginning and basic techniques of sculpturing a head.  With pinch pot techniques, the student can create their own dog or cat in clay.  The proportion in a sculpture will be covered as well as glazing techniques.  Come create your best friend and make some new ones!  The student may bring a picture of any animal head they wish to create.  The supply fee includes clay and glazes.

Stan Sperlak will conduct a mixed indoor/outdoor landscape workshop in pastels that will cover various methods of painting that focus on creating believable works through mature use of light, form and color.  The students will see demos, slideshows and use props within the class. The highlights of the class include effects of light on forms, designing better contrasts, layering, strengthening how colors can be employed to new effects and solving the riddle for developing better understanding of values.

his Master Artist class, you will also be experimenting with techniques in water and alcohol, working with gesso and pumice, under-painting and developing new calligraphy.  The student will not only take home a painting, but will have a wealth of knowledge in the art of pastels!  A supply list will be provided upon registering for this class.

Do you admire the beauty of transparent watercolors flowing and mingling to make a luminous and colorful painting?  Do you fear it is too hard to learn?  Be fearless, you can do it!  Learn tips on allowing watercolor to flow with only a few brush strokes and tips on making corrections.  The instructor demonstrates basic watercolor techniques for you to practice.  Then paint along the instructor to complete a summer landscape painting step-by-step.  The instructor provides all materials needed for this class.  This is a great class to learn watercolor painting no matter what level you are at.  Bring family or friends and make a summer memory!  The supply fee includes paint, watercolor paper and a mat for the finished artwork.

If you like prisms you will love this class!  Students will take home a Swarovski cage tear-drop pendant (20″ sterling silver chain) and earrings!  You will learn to form a square sterling silver wire cage for a tear drop crystal pendant.  The techniques used will be wire wrapping, forming bail for the chain and making French earwires.  This class creates a high quality sterling silver necklace and earrings.  What a great class to take with your friends and family.  Come join the class and make friends and have some fun!

This copper bracelet is one of a kind you create in this fun class.  The instructor will teach you to make Egyptian Spiral Links and design placement for a comfortable fit.  The students will learn to make jump rings to connect the spirals and spiral toggle for the bracelet closure.  You will also learn how to patina copper.  All the jeweler’s tools will be supplied.  Come be creative and make a great piece of jewelry for yourself or a present for friends and family.

Learn to write true stories with techniques used by fiction writers to keep readers turning pages.  Write a personal essay or a mini-memoir in this writing-intensive class.  Get great feedback from instructor and group.  Students will learn dialogue, pacing, characterization and setting to make stories come alive.  The students should bring a computer or a notebook and pen.  Come be creative and learn a new form of art!

This is a great class for students who have taken Intro to Leather and have had experience in making a leather bag using pre-cut and punched leather pieces.  Levels 1 & 2 will teach students how to cut and stamp leather, design their own leather bag (or use one of many templates available) and begin to learn pyrography on leather, colorizing wax ink and dry wax techniques.  Students will make up to 2 bags, depending on their choice of size and complexity.  Instructors provide shapes, tassels and all other needed materials that will be used to make a truly unique pair of bags!  Some of the techniques students will learn are cutting and punching leather, using a wood burner to burn a pattern into leather, colorizing leather with waxes.  This class will be especially fun to take with a friend or with family!

Craft your own design for a bracelet or necklace from a treasure trove of semi-precious stones, crystals, Czech glass, pearls, wooden beads, and more provided by jewelry artist, Vicki Wagoner. She will assist you to learn the basics of beading, from picking the perfect beads to working with the right tools to finish your own lovely one-of-a-kind creation that you will proudly wear home. Ages 7 and up welcome!
