Berniece Underwood Harper, age 89, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home. Born in Blue Ridge, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Cleveland Underwood, Sr. and Bernice Sprayberry Underwood. Mrs. Harper worked for thirty years with Van Raalt Hoisery Mill and various other seamstress jobs in the community. She had also worked for a number of years in the cafeteria for West Fannin School. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, GA. Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Cecil E. Harper; and siblings, William Cleveland Underwood, Jr., and Beth Brown.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cecilia and Jimmy Boling of Morganton, GA; siblings, Frances Ramsdell of Columbia, SC, Dan Underwood of Blue Ridge, GA, Brannon and Kathleen Underwood of Orangeburg, SC, Carmi and Kenneth Wood and Anne Fleeman all of Blue Ridge, GA; grandson and fiancee, Brian Boling and Yaya Han of Marietta, GA; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music will be provided by Teresa Tolan, Pam Trusty, Linda Weaver, Doris Underwood and Imogene Stewart. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens.
