Mattie Louise Dale, age 89, of Turtletown, TN, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Erlanger Medical Center. Mrs. Dale was born in Ducktown, TN on March 20, 1928 to the late John Henry Holbrooks and Loma Fair Ingram Holbrooks. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Coker Creek, TN. Mrs. Dale had worked at Copper Basin Medical Center as the Director of Dietary Services. She loved gardening, canning, cooking, taking care of others and her beloved cat, Pretty Boy. Mrs. Dale was preceded in death by her husband, Selma Dale and brothers, Lawrence Holbrooks and Charles Junior Holbrooks.
She is survived by a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Luke Hall and Rev. Paul Ray Harper officiating. Music was by the Barker Brothers. Pallbearers included Larry Panter, Herman Boring, Rev. Luke Hall, Josh Cole, Dale Ingram and Paul Ray Powell. Graveside services followed on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
