Estelle Bearden Parks, age 91, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away March 28, 2017 at her home. Born in Dawsonville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Hershel and Annie Maude Mincey Bearden. She was a long time member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Parks was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Sim” Parks; daughter, Marie Wolfe; brother, Jay Bearden; and one sister, Audrey Morris.
Survivors include her five daughters and sons-in-laws, Louise and Stanley Ritter, Linda and Danny McFarland, Lois and William Hughes, Nancy and Max Jones, Rhonda and Jim Taylor all of Blue Ridge, GA; son-in-law, Billy Wolfe of St. Simons Island, GA brother, Masteen Bearden of Dahlonega, GA; sisters-in-law, Carrie and James Galloway of Blue Ridge, GA and Grace Taylor of PA; brother-in-law, Grady and Reathel Parks of Lanham, MD; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Ritter and Rev. Jimmy Ritter officiating. Music will be provided by Roy and Doris Hefner. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Robert Wolfe, Brian Wolfe, Derrick Wolfe, Reagan Wolfe, Chris Rhodes, Nathan McFarland, Jamey Taylor and Ronnie Ritter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
