Linda Kate Hughes, age 62, of Berea, KY passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. Mrs. Hughes was born in Chicago, IL to the late Herman D. Duncan and Patsy Naler Duncan. She had worked as an Lab Analyst with URS and was a former Cub Scout Master in Ft. Payne, AL. She was a hard worker and cherished being a wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Hughes of the home; children, Christopher (Lori) Bible of Ft. Payne, AL, Susan Thompson of Hope’s Bluff, AL; sisters, Martha Willkie and Bonnie Goolesby of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Josh, Jacob and Barrett.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Pastor Barry Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be James Abernathy, Eddie Reid, Roger Shuler, Josh Gipson, Jacob Gipson and Christopher Bible. Interment will follow in the Turtletown Church of God of Prophecy cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
