Okie Rudolph “Rudy” Cook, age 83 passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his home. Mr. Cook was born on January 22, 1934 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Walter James Cook and Mary Greene Cook. He worked for Lance Trucking as a truck driver. Mr. Cook was of the Baptist Faith. He served in the United States Army and Airborne Ranger during the Korean War. Mr. Cook enjoyed dirt track racing and was a frequent visitor to the Windy Ridge “Conoco” bench. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn Sutton Cook; sons, Mike Sutton, Steve Sutton, Johnny Cook and Danny Cook and granddaughter, Kelly Jones.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Karen Cook of Blue Ridge, GA; five daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Albert Jeffery of Spiro, OK, Patricia and Scott Holloway of Morganton, GA, Connie and Mike Davis of Blue Ridge, GA, Linda Vincent of Anchorage, AK and Susie and Bhavik Patel of Calhoun, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Emogene and Sanson Watkins of Whitestone, GA; thirty-three grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Phillip Green officiating. Eulogy will be by Connie Davis. Interment will follow in the New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Holloway, Jacob Carr, Trevor Cook, Justin Kincaid, Tyler Holloway, Shane Kincaid and Austin Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
