Sue Dalton “Grocker” Dickey: Obituary

Sue Dalton “Grocker” Dickey, age 88, of Blue Ridge Drive, McCaysville, GA., passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Blue Ridge Assisted Living Center. Mrs. Dickey was born November 22, 1928, in Salem, OH. She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church Of McCaysville since the age of twelve and was a long time member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She enjoyed baking for her friends and spending time with her family. Ms. Dickey was preceded in death by mother; Grace Dalton, husband; William (Bill) Wilford Dickey, brother; Ben Dalton, grandson; William Joseph Driscoll.

Survivors include: daughter; Suzanne D. (John B.) Driscoll, granddaughter; Emily Grace Driscoll, and grandson; Luke Thomas Driscoll.

Funeral services: Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Of McCaysville/Copperhill with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Walker, Jeff Driscoll, Joe Driscoll, Rene Bidez, Jim Driscoll, Mike Stamper and Chuck Cook. Honorary escort: First Baptist Church Joy Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christian Ministries of McCaysville First Baptist Church or Ronald McDonald Charities in Chattanooga, TN.
